:stars: What the heck is going on with Fisher and Bounty Hunter? Ok,... so far we all know that BH bought Fisher. And Fisher has moved to Texas. So why is there still a Fisher website? Are they two different companies or one company with two different products or two companies that have combined products? Oh, I AM SO CONFUSED!! Oh why Oh why did they do this to us? Who will send me my parts?:nopity:SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN!!!!

Bounty Hunter didn't buy anything.

Bounty Hunter, Teknetics, and Titan are all detector brands owned by First Texas Products. And, now the Fisher brand has also been bought by First Texas.

It's like this: Ford Motor Company bought Jaguar but a Jaguar is still a Jaguar and a Ford is still a Ford.

Companies do that. They buy and sell other companies. Happens all the time.

No need to worry Dirtfisher, things are still in order! Fisher had
a cash flow problem and First Texas stepped in and "bought" the
operating assets of the company, which included all stock on hand
and manufacturing rights to continue or "modify" any existing models
they see fit to, including parts. From now on if one needs parts for
their Fisher units they need only appeal to First Texas and their
new Fisher Dept. for access to the necessary goods. Otherwise,
business as usual, just a slight change in Corporate procedures for
both entities now functioning as one! There can only be good things
to come from this acquisition by FT.
..R :D

Well why don't they give us more info, on there new products coming out, OK for the dealers wanting your money now,pre ordering , but nothing from, FT, They are has silent has a mouse in the background, time they gave the public a bit off thought.or are they by there silence drumming up interest by saying nothing, so to those in FT,GET UP AND SPEAK UP other detector companies are closing in on an array off new detectors ,Whites Minelab are all looking for a bit off action and a bigger piece off the cake .

to get a bigger piece of the cake?? Don't expect any new ground breaking detectors from them any time soon. ML just "updated" the Explorer to give it a little more life. Prior to that they released the lower priced Quattro. Now they seem to be concentrating more on the mid to lower price range. Their gold machines continue to be the money makers for them. Look at the price they are able to charge for a PI nugget detector due to the current lack of competition and they are still using the same old philosophy of dribbling out improvements a bit at a time to keep making new sales and the $$ rolling in.
Whites is still working on a replacement for the DFX, its been how long in coming now??? Whats up with that! The rumors a while back were that they were not able to improve the performance of that design. More than likely they have just tossed it and are now working on something entirely new, Lets hope! What good was a multi frequency detector that only worked best when not using the MF modes anyway? Good for sales I guess.

The only thing Fisher was good at the last few years was losing money and it cost us, the consumer, quite a bit in the cheapening of their quality reputation and poor/slow repair work. New designs and improved QC are needed badly and I doubt that FT is too dumb to not know this. They spent some bucks to acquire the Fisher name and manufacturing processes. Rest assured they will get the brand back on track.

They have. They will be releasing two new models shortly: the F4 and F75. Basic features and pictures have been released and posted on this forum and elsewhere. Release dates are expected to be around late Winter/Spring. There is also a full page ad in a current TH magazine (W&ET) for the F75.

no disrespect, but dates have not be finalised ,a piture without any thing else, what khz the F75 ,for taking pre orders, not really enough info ,still the T2 is going great guns ,for me .

cheers John

Yea....GOOD THINGS....Like $180 + shipping to install a Disc Pot in a CZ 6a.....Radio Shack sells them for $15

if its so easy and so cheap at radio shack- do it yourself and dont complain.

Think things like labor is free? Go to your local garage and see how much labor is per hour to fix your car--

Naturally when one gets a new boss things change and this is no different as policies will surely change..As far as the new units coming out not releasing them until they are right is a good change in my book..Seen too many new detectors have to go back for several changes so I feel it will be worth the wait.Only time will tell so lets be patient...
