Some photos of Wolves

In the interest of full disclosure, these photos were taken in a forty acre fenced in area at a much larger game preserve called Fossil Rim in Texas. I went on a Photo Safari where they loaded 6 of us with our cameras in the open back of a Land Rover and took us cross country for 6 hours, off the beaten path, in the preserve. As I recall these were taken with a Nikon 300mm f4 lens at ground level on a mono pod. I have several other species which I will show in the future.

ALL MY OTHER PHOTOS WERE TAKEN IN THE WILD

These are nice pictures! I would love to take a few bear and wolf pictures, and other wildlife pictures. Tom, thanks for taking the time to post these great pictures! :clapping: Kelley (Texas) :)

I was probably 50 yards away when I took the photos. The guide carried a high powered rifle. There was also an area where some "cats" roamed freely - within a similar fenced in area. Obviously some species have to be segerated from the rest. It was a very interesting day and well worth the cost.

Thank goodness you got to take some great pictures. I don't think that I would want to get that close to a bear to take a picture. Kelley (Texas) :)

I agree. I use a 300mm f4 lens and have a 1.4X and 1.7 x extender giving me 420 mm and 510 mm which puts a little more distance between me and the subject.

The bear photos that I lost were taken with the 80 - 400 mm lens which I sold a few years ago. The lens I want cost over $7000 so that is not going to happen.
