Some of my Mercs..

Nice. Mercs are one of my favorite coins. Iv'e found 4 since I started.
Yeah one of my favorite coins but they are scarce as hens teeth anymore.

Bill
The last 2 I found was at the burned out creamery in Murrieta, Ca. I detected earlier this year. Your old stomping grounds. A 1939 and 1935. The 1935 is the one on the right. It got burnt so bad in nearly melted. I got it cleaned up since. Poor thing, she got some of her wings melted.

I'm surprised you didn't find some melted silver. I can't believe the population of that burg is nearing 100,0000. When I was around there they still had hitching posts out in front of the stores. :) Another garden spot raped by the Yuppies.

Course when I first went to California in the fifties Orange county was still miles of orange groves. Elsinore was a ghost town with just a few retired jewish folks living there and the lake was non-existent and was just a burnt, dried and cracked scab in the desert. At that time you could buy five acres on the bank of the dried up lake for $495 - $5.00 down and $5.00 per month. Lordy how I wish I had sprung for five acres. But who knew some wise ass would come along many years later, drill a well or two, and fill up the lake.

When I was a kid the sign said 2000. Now it's like 20,000. Freakin LA'ers ruined it.
