Some of my favorite finds of 2006

So 2006 was my first full year of metal detecting. I started in the fall last year by purchasing an Ace 250 and a month later I upgraded to an Explorer XS....I had become addicted! I finished the year with 95 silver coins and 2 gold rings. I also got a handful of other silver jewelry and other misc. items.

The first picture is of all of my seated and silver 3cents for the year. Not pictured is a near slick no date seated half dime.

Next are my Barbers and Walkers. The 1916-S is a Key Date in the series and worth about $125 in G-4.

Pictured next are all of the foreign silver coins that I found this year.

And finally... the two golds rings I found with my Minelab Excalibur 1000. They are both 10k.

Very impressive for any year. I don't find silver here like the guys in other areas. Mostly coppers and some silver. Congrats on a good year.

You did Fantastic on the Seated and the 3-Cent Silver's. What do the 3-Cent Silver Coins read on the Explorer in Digital? I have some older sites that may have some in them and it would be helpful to know what the Digital Number is on that coin. And if I had a year like that with that many Seated, I would be very proud and I hope you have more good luck in 2007. Very Nice selection of Old Coins and I like the Gold you found also. Add's "Bling" to your collection as MrChile would say. Continued Success to you and Good Luck and HH.

What a great first year. I can only imagine what your collection will look like in ten years.
Congratulations

Jim

I did get one old copper as well when I went detecting out in Missouri. It's still soaking in olive oil, though. It's a 1740s King George Half Penny.

I really don't know what the 3cents ring up as in digital because I never use digital. But on the smart find they come in about where indian heads / screw caps. One came in near the very bottom of the screen in the middle about where a nickel or shotgun shell would show up. I was very surprised when that one came out of the ground!

Yeah, gotta love the bling! I got my machine like 2 weeks before it became too cold to water detect here, otherwise there would probably be more of it! :)

Indiana here. About an hour northeast of Indianapolis. Not a whole lot of really old sites here, but plenty that can produce seated coins and the occasional bust if you are lucky.
