Out for the afternoon penny popping. I took the ACE 250/Large Coil + GTI 1500?Stock imaging Coil. Managed some oldies, but most were in poor shape. That lipstick tube was found about a foot from the large cent at the same depth. It is stamped "AVON" " MONTREAL".

That dime with the triangle cut out of it is kinda cool. The person removed the date, but it was a King George V on the reverse, so it was somewhere 1911-1936.

Great finds today, John.

OK, now a question about Relic hunting: do I need a 12" coil on my Ace 250 or should I be considering a 1500:confused:

My main interest is Relics, but the Ace stock coil just doesn't seem to find 'em. Finds 2"-4" coins just fine but just doesn't seem to lock in with repeatable signals on deeper stuff.

Any and all opinions are appreciated.:clapping:

Well, it depends where you hunt relics. The large coil on the ACE gets good depth, but doesn't work good in the woods. It does however work OK in short grass or ploughed fields. The best machine for relics is the GTI 2500, as it has a true all metal mode plus you have the ability to ground balance it too. The imaging might help you, depending on what you are looking for. Occasionally a used one comes up for sale, but most with the GTI 2500 keep it.
