:sleepy:Someone really dropped the ball on this product launch, errrr whatever...:sleepy:

The best customer is the informed customer. They wait to long everybody will buy the Impact and not have any money for any other detector (maxx). I am waiting for real reviews from customers before I buy either a Impact or AT maxx.

If the buyer is a water hunter they won't buy the Impact. There's enough to go around for everyone.

Nokta is working on a water detector. I imagine it is a waterproof Impact or better...:heh:

I know. When is the release date ?

I'm certainly glad that John is not heavy handed about deleting every little post that isn't 100% positive to the sponsor the way some mods do.

But let's be fair. This really isn't an appropriate discussion on a forum that Garrett pays to sponsor.

I take it , you understand the gist of my statement.

Nope, went right over my head the first time but I think I get it now...unlike the Max, no imminent release date. The emoji should have tipped me off, sorry.

In part from Garrett on 5/31/17:

Hello Jim,
I am sorry to say that we do not yet have a release date set for the AT Max. We are aiming to have it available sometime this summer, but the exact timing is up in the air as the engineers make their final adjustments to the design and we gear up to begin full scale manufacturing of the new unit.....

Did you expect a hard date ? I'm just curious.

I just think they could keep the public more informed. In this day and age forums is a great place to get the word out and they seem to have not been doing that. I watched 2 videos from the Hoover boys with the AT max and it looked great. If they were saying why they have not released it yet would be helpful. We will wait for a great finished product. Hope to own a AT Maxx in the next year.

yes, I asked for a date range within the month of June.

I have to wonder how badly we want the initial release of any detector. Those are always the ones with the most problems.

Perhaps this is where the software updates by internet are an advantage, as used by 2 or 3 manufacturers.
1. Get the product in testers' hands.
2. Make changes based on feedback.
3. Launch product.
4. Improve as needed.

I do not worry about that. I pre-ordered my AtPro early on and still have it. I did have a problem as many of the early units did but Garrett took care of it promptly. I also sent it in for the free upgrade and warranty extension. It is still my main detector and has paid for it'self many times over with the finds I have made.

Now that Garrett is coming out with the At Max I am getting interested. For me the variable threshold and being able to set the tone break points are worthwhile features.

Watching this with interest.

Jerry
