Well third day and the pickings in this 20ft by 30ft yard is getting low. found two more Chinese coins (I've been saying Korean, Wrong!), these two were actually attached by a string, and also found a few more memorials, I wish the weekend would hurry up and get here. I'm ready to hit some "old" spots.
Well I originally found one in Oct and had a coin expert look at it cause it looked old and the gold color. This what he sent to me... Hi,
?This is a chinese coin from the reign of emperor Chen Long (r. 1736-1796) of the (Manchu) Ch'ing dynasty. It is like a penny. The writing on the front is Chinese, and says Chen Long Tong Bao (currency of the Chen Long Emperor) The writing on the back is Manchu, saying "made in the government mint." The Manchu peoples are not ethnicly Chinese, but ruled China from the mid 1600's until the 1910 revolution. As for value of the coin many were made and it is very common even today and worth about 50 cents but they are great pieces of history.
