The famous inverted Jenny. To boot the stupid boobs at the Post Office cancelled it reducing its value by half. Where do we find these people?

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - An absentee ballot was mailed with what may have been a rare stamp worth as much as $200,000

In this case, a cancelled specimen, on the original cover with a 2006 postmark may get Far more than a mint specimen. 100 are known to exist. Now there are 99 mint specimens, but only ONE used. I would not, however, recommend trying this with your rare stamps.

Yeah I read the story. Thanks for posting it. Wonder if that idiot has anymore of the Jennys? Mighty expensive vote.

Cancelling generally cuts the value in half. I've got some mint Hitler stamps from WWII but don't know if they are worth anything.

Fantastic story...unbelievable...what the heck was the person thinking when they mailed it..... I know.......I confess it was me ...please let them know I sent it and would like it back...I forgot to give them my name....no kiddding..

Whadda ya expect from a bunch of money grubbing bureaucrats. They should at least try to find the owner. Probably some elderly person who had no idea what was or a wife in the throes of divorce getting revenge on her husband.

Bill

Since they haven't been able to properly inspect it, is it possible it was just an inverted chad?
