Some good relics today

Hunted a wooded area where I have pulled out some old coins. The oldest an 1851 large cent and numerous other coins and jewelry. I had a lengthy post about this spot last year.Last week I snagged a 1917 Buffalo nickle here.

Today I found this military button. I think it is real old. It appears to be gold plated. Eagle on front and some writing on back. I can make out SCOVILLE MFG CO on the back. Another word that I cant make out yet. I want to carefully clean it.

Next I found an old hinged box that I thought was going to be a rusty can. Man, Im glad I dug it. After recovering it I rechecked the hole and found two more pieces to it.

Used a Vaquero with stock coil. Min disc with the threshold set on the last O in Tesoro.

I bought this machine two years ago. I wanted an all purpose coin jewelry, relic machine. I made the right choice.

Nice button,

It looks to have quite a bit of gilt underneath the dirt, clean it wisely,,,Congrats

Those are some super nice relics. I bet there's more nearby. I wonder if that's picture holder.

I dont know how to clean it. I guess soak it in water and gently take a soft toothbruch to it ?

thats some nice finds hatip.

I always try to guess my targets before digging. The button I guessed as a shotgun shell. I correctly guessed shotgun shell and 22 bullet earlier. It makes the hunt a little more interesting. Ive been pretty good at guessing horse shoes also. Dug a lot of them in this place.

Nice finds, I need to do some history research and see if I can find some better sites to hunt. Thanks for sharing.
