Not the 27 ounces per year that I've done in the past but it pays the gas anyhow. Got a great kit now with interchangeable coils / phones for the Excal 11 and an old X2 Pro to run the WOT on. This Sov model is the most stable ever--ideal for large coils and all metal work. The rock beside the class ring is appraised at $3,850 cdn.--might get $1200 for it.

27 ounces in a year? Wow Clive..... I tend to get excite with at least one outstanding find I can drop in my collection. Those are some impressive and just outstanding finds.

Fine looking spread of Treasure..

Chains are just hard to come by for some reason for me. Ill catch one or two a year like this year. I tend to get the trinkets on them..... but those chains are always gone. Its obvious why you write the books and i dont.

Some excellent finds! And I'm with Dew on the chains ... I don't turn up very many either; and when I do, they are small and thin with a little pendant that the detector hit on.

Its not really the lack of knowing how the machine reacts to chains as much as ....... are there few being lost, do they get burried faster, do they move constantly, do they ball up and move toward shore, or are they grabbed before they hit the water? Most i find tend to move into the very low areas where most junk can be found. Clive any tips on how to improve ones chain finds? I once counted the number of visible chains on a busy beach...... i was surprised once i got done how few there were when figuring the number of people. Do that one time......then consider the number of rings could average 2 per person...... and a lot more of those come off than chains. Id dare say the amount lost or dropper and recovered quickly are the reason we dont find many. It take a lot of horse play and sometimes bad water conditions for them to come off out there.
