Some finds....with some help with ID of one....

Hi all,
Well I would like to thank you Dave for your help....I'm starting to get the hang of the 250,here is some finds from a newer park,I did find 2 small pieces of silver,and this MEGA coin...that I have no idea what it is,my heart about dropped when I pulled it out of the hole...I thought it was gold...
Anybody ever found one of these or know anything about it?

I can't read what it says on the coin. Does it have President Ronald Reagan's name on it? You might have some sort of Presidential medal or party token.

The back says"Medal of Merit" Ronald Reagan founder...and the front says "Republican Presidential Task Force"...its pretty neat though,I am trying to reserch it on the net as we speak.

Yeah it's a Presidential medal of some sort. Hope it's worth some bucks for you.

did some research on the medal of merit. it was issued in a velvet lined case with a note that read (not exact quote) " awarded for your participation in the presidential task force." was bronze with gold plating. read that they could be purchased on ebay for apprx. $4-$6. the coin is a great find. keep up the good work.

Nice finds, that is a sweet medal. Amazing what will happen when you just let the detector do its job, aint it?

PS would you be willing to use a black or dark blue cloth for the photos next time? Makes it easier to see the goodies.
