A Viking trove you say, i think that's very unlikely to find such a thing in here, because the Vikings really didnt travel this far North, but who knows.:clapping:

Yeah, i am from Finland and there seems to be just enough history in here to find something decent once in a while.:detecting:

I am still in a bit of shock because of the Gotland coin find, it is so rare to find something like this, it is definitely my find of a lifetime.:look:

Very nice finds. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Amazing & important find........how generous of you to share it with the museum..........and advance the knowledge of Finnish history. I hope they publish your story so people will learn that detectorists perform useful & beneficial deeds. Instead of all the bad publicity we get from a handful of people who have no business operating a detector.
My congratulations:)

Thanks and the museum did pay good sum to acquire the coin in their collection, so not bad at all.:)

That's a wonderful find, and it would be interesting to see if the museum cleans it up, and what it looks like if they do. Do you think they would send you a picture, or would you have to go to the museum to see it. It would also be interesting to get a written report from the museum when they work out the history of the coin. Well done!!

Well, they did try to clean it and send me a pic of the end product and now it looks horrible, it was much better looking before the "cleaning".:throw:
