Some finds from the dead zone !

Met up with Park Pirate this morning in an area of the park we call the "dead zone" for the lack of finds there. We've pounded that area the last few weeks and dug a ton of old nickels, some indian head cents and a couple of silver coins. I really thought we sucked every last coin out of there but the dead zone came alive today ! Between Tony and I we pulled out at least a dozen keepers out of there this morning. Tony dug three V nickles, a Buffalo nickel and two indian head cents. I ended up with a 1917 mercury dime, two V nickels, two indian head cents , two wheaties and a military button. Also pictured are an indian head cent, 1899 soap token and Buffalo nickel I dug earlier in the week.

Great finds, but I especially like the soap token with Admiral Dewey's picture.

Ed I see you are still hitting the parks...(Charles waves Jedi hand at Ed) Schoharie, the hill where you kicked my butt and found your famed shield nickel...the hill above there other side of the road has not been hunted properly.

Hey buddy. Nice to hear from you. You need to move back here so we can hit those good old spots. Waiting for cooler weather. Last month has been brutal and ground is like concrete. Planning on hitting seated park with Jeff in Mass in the near future. You wouldn't believe the coins I've pulled out of Bewerwyck this year. Silver quarter, Barber and a couple mercs, maybe 20 v and Buff nickels and a few Indian head cents. Guess your Wot-bot didn't get them all.

Ed that park would be a gold mine if they dozed 6 inches off the top. I dug many a larger relic at extreme depths there. I would love to get back there for a week or so to detect with you. I'm going in for a hip replacement later this year so maybe in the spring! Its been 3 years since I swung my detector
