Some finds from Sunday

My buddy and went out last Sunday and hunted around a school yard a while when and man came up and started a converstation with my buddy. He said he lived just down the road and invited us to hunt around his yard if we liked.( Don't you wish it was this easy all the time?)
The house is about 70-80 yrs. old and had a nice yard and two large oak trees whick looked like a good place to start.
Since we weren't having much luck at the school, we took him up on his offer and hunted there during the afternoon around the shade.
I found 4 wheat pennies dating 1919, 1941, 1945, and one I couldn't get a date off of.
I also found lots of newer pennies and a few dimes.
Around the side yard I found the silver ring pictured and then found a silver spoon in the back yard.
These were the only silver we found in the yard which surprised me since the first signal I dug was one of the wheat pennies.
I also found what I think is part of a door bell ringer or a ringer off of an old telephone.
Anyone got any other ideas as to what this is?
Thanks for looking,
Felix

Thanks ezdigger,
I believe that you are right on the ID of this piece.
It looks like even the design is the same.
