Some ducks.... and geese:O

I have been meaning to take some photos of the ducks and geese at the college I attend. My college goes with the giant park theme, with quite a large portion of it open grassy area. There are also a few artificial streams that run through the campus, eventually dumping into man-made ponds. Because of the abundance of open grassy areas and ponds, ducks and geese flock to the campus quite a bit during the winter. So much so in fact, that every few years there are simply too many of them and the campus has to hire dogs and their masters to drive them off.

I finally got around to taking some photos of them today in between classes, and I must say that the big goose does not like his picture being taken! In the end, however, I was able to get it to pose for me a few times without upsetting it too much. But when I did upset it it was not very nice.

everytime I go there. I have to carry a sawed off broom handle to hold him at bay. He is so fast that he leaves a trail of dust in his wake as he charges me. He is just a miserable, mean, nasty tempered long neck goose duck that needs to be taught some manners. Kelley (Texas) :)

but they tend not to bother anyone unless they mess with them. Surprisingly, the homeless of the town do not seem to come to the campus to attempt to make a meal of a duck or goose. Around the areas were the ducks and geese typically flock to on campus the college has put in signs warning of fines if you are caught feeding or touching them though.

I save stale bread, break it up into small pieces, and feed them. The nasty, mean goose duck will be nice while eating, but when done, look out because he gets mean and wants to bite you. I keep hoping that he will go live somewhere else, but I don't think that is going to happen. Kelley (Texas) :)

and ship him to you folks. You have no idea just how mean this thing is to folks, it is a nightmare. I loved the pictures you posted, those ducks looked happy. Kelley (Texas) :)
