Some have asked which is deeper, the Pro Mode or the Standard Mode on the AT Pro. Here are some air tests to show the differences. Also shown are some other Garrett detectors......
 
Along with the Ace and AT models, it's easy to see why Garrett still makes the GTI2500. Its imaging is a big help too.

Thank you for doing this comparison in the major target categories. It's helpful for folks with detectors or planning to get a new one.
 
Just as I suspected. A newby should just buy an AT Pro right off the bat., instead of starting off with an ACE 250. Put the ATP in standard mode and you basically have an ACE 250 to teach you basics, in the same machine. Then switch the ATP over to pro mode and gain more capability, when you are ready for it.
