Some DEEP F70 finds made today

Man it was HOT out today and so was the F70.

I have no idea how you guys can run the sens as high as you guys do, maybe I prefer a real smooth operating detector but at any rate, I found these today at a site that hasnt given up anything in a real long time.

I was running sens of 10 (deep enough for me !) Any higher and I start to get non-repeatable blips which slow me down because I check and recheck each to make sure it is nothing WAYyyyyyyyy down in the dirt.

The IH appears to be maybe an 1895 or 85? Just cant tell. Cant tell the date on the merc either. The other strange coins appears to be some Polish coin dated 1923 and the dog tag.

The depth read 13-14 inches on the items and were solid as can be. Actual depth was approx 10-12 inches in my estimation using my digger as a guide and digging slowly to get a good idea on the depth.

I have said it before, I havent been digging this deep since who knows when. Cant wait to get the replacement F70 as I hear they are even deeper YET !

Nice finds! I really like the dog tag:thumbup:
Keep up the good work.

hi tony!
am i correct?... are you in florida?......isn't that whole state nuthin' but a big sand bar sticking out into the atlantic?..are you digging in a sandy like soil?

thanks!

JT,

Yup, I am located in central Florida and there are hardly any minerals to speak of, at least imo. The GB on the F70 is like 78-82 inland.

The ground is sandy, but not like the beach sand. Its easy diggin, thats for sure!

Tony, I run my sensitivity at about 30-40 and it really could be lower than that. It's almost too much at that level. Since mine has the software glitch, I hope the replacement I get is as hot as this one. The old key I found today was as deep as my complete Lesche digger including the handle. I believe this is one of the hottest detectors I've ever had and I've had a few.

John,

Some of the places that are detected have zinc cents at an easy 8inches +. I am guessing most of the older coins are too deep to be detected anymore. Id say the soil just swallows the coins.

Many yrs back I met a buddy up in Vestal NY and revolutionary coins were still just under the leaves and maybe an inch or two down, BUT it was awful digging.

Mike,

Mine is toooo hot also. My feeling is the sens range from low to high could be mapped much better, meaning instead of getting 8 inches with a sens setting of ONE and lets make up a number of say 16 for max sens setting which is maybe a setting of SIXTY, the range would be better imo if a setting of ONE would provide maybe 3 inches of airtest and a setting of 99 would provide an airtest of the MAX possible.

The way it is now imo is like a 500 HP car trying to drive on slick ice from a dead stop trying to get up a slight incline. TOO POWERFUL but perfect in the right areas though.

thanks tony!..the reason i ask is i am based in the northeast, and i am sure i will NOT probably get the depth you are getting in florida coil for coil, and detector for detector!..would loved to be called a liar if i shoud buy a f-70 though!

Bill Ladd is up in your part of the country and from the sounds of it, the F70/75 are getting great depth there. Perhaps you need to meet up with someone up there in your area to see the unit run in person to get a better idea.

hi tony!
yeah!..i know they are getting good depth everywhere,i was just pointing out in your soil,i think you would go deper ..that's all!..thanks!
