Some days you are the pigeon - other days you are the statue!

...today I apparently was the statue! I got an early jump on the heat and humidity this morning starting at 6:15 to a new-to-me rental on the DODGY (as in check out all the shell casings in the trash pic!) side of town, only about 4 blocks away from last week's Monday hunt. This house was built in 1923, and I could just see all the silver jumping out of the ground when I looked at it on Google Maps! I started in 4 khz and the EMI was very moderate - unlike last week!

Before long I was in the front yard but there seemed to be a real absence of those deeper, smaller hits that are often period coins...only pulled 3 Wheats the entire hunt - this place could have been hunted but hard to say for sure. I was tempted to notch out zinc cents and pulltab-type targets - but in NOT doing so I got a slight bump in excitement when I saw "Krugerrand" on the "coin ring"...

Further inspection showed that it was a fine coin...Fine Brass that is

After scanning the front yard in its entirety in 4 khz, I went back with 12 khz and only picked up some partially masked clad, and a whole boatload of bottlecaps and trash! I guess they can't all be gems and honestly after last Monday's finds - I am still more than pleased for June's finds so far!

I want to get one more night hunt in before the club meeting on Thursday - one more chance to pull something that gleams in the hole!

Maybe not what you were hoping for CZ, but you still pulled a ring and a bunch of coins (...and trash) out of the ground. Well done, and thanks for the pictures.

Yeah, Taylor, that ring could be a heart stopper at first glance. Chris and I put in a short hunt today. Dry conditions around, but did manage a couple of keepers. Something nice and shinny with a bit of age is probably all thats needed this month for finds of the month entries. Good luck and see you Th night. HH jim tn
