Some corrections to the F5 manual

There are a couple of revisions of the F5 manual floating around. The one that came with my machine has some errors as pertains to my F5.

I said all along the F5 was a decent machine, but the manual really needed to be re-done- big time....especially the ground balance pages. I had alot of trouble just trying to do a video following the manual, so imagine how a newbie must feel trying to go detecting for the first time. It made ground balance alot more complex than it really is, & it confused alot of people. I suggested improving these pages months ago, but nobody listens to my suggestions anymore......

The manuals for all detectors are sadly lacking. I don't know where they round up the tech writers who put these things together but they sure ain't too familiar with what they're writing about. I would think they'd be required to learn the machine thoroughly before writing the instructions for use.

Thanks Mike. My manual is almost up-to-date with the changes you noted, except it dosen't refer to, or mention "manual ground balancing". Can you ground balance, manually or with the pahse lock method, without switching back into All Metal?? Thanks, Ron.

Mike - My thanks too for the list.

I know when I first read the part in the manual about GB'ing I said what the heck are they talking about???? Especially when Bill Ladd's video made it look so easy. Which of course it is.

Even with my limited experience I realized right away when I took it out and GB'd with both methods that the manual totally screwed it up.

as I was doing the video with that original manual that was confusing the heck outta me :)
