Some comments about Impact

I am currently a user and tester of the unit.

Have over 120 hours on the unit (field time) and add some more for what I call at home testing.

You tube videos,,,they can help folks with any detector,,but they can be misleading too,,,and what I'm talking about here in unintentional misleading.

Impact detector has inate ability to alert user on targets real well,,when compared to many other detectors.

You tube video likely won't show this as good.

Hunting in the wild,,big difference vs hovering a coil across an already located suspect target.

Even when hunting in heavy iron,,nails,,Impact will alert above average it seems on nonferrous targets.

Folks here should realize,,this detector,,when a person learns,,hunting in trashy sites less junk on average will be dug using it.

I have first hand experience in these type of sites and this has been the result.

The non normalized vdi reporting along with the use of different freqs sets this detector apart from many others.

There is also not many,,maybe not even one period,,,a metered Vlf detector that can be operated at 20khz.
This use of 20 kHz is grand on this detector for separation and unmasking in nails,,iron and believe it or not modern trash.

The ability to fast toggle between modes,,,even make settings changes,,,once a person learns the ins and out of these,,,game ON.
No fumbling around looking for this or that,,,,on the fly changes with little or no confusion.

A user friendly detector vs amount of capability it possesses.

I do run a pair of Deus units. Minelab CTX,,and more,,,this Impact detector definitely has a place for me in my arsenal.

Knowing what I do now,,since I have gotten to both test and use and hunt with the detector,,,would I buy?? You bet.
Actually I may even buy one to go with my test unit,,,funny huh??

All I can say,,,folks interested and are still a bit skeptical about purchasing,,,maybe you can get with someone who actually purchases,,and spend some time with them.

I think you will be impressed,,,especially for how much the detector costs.

I am able to show this detector to anyone,,I have already done so,,even let the person operate it a bit,,,so they could see it and how it sounds,,feels, etc.
They even got to see me recover a very worn 1916 merc out of a hard hunted site.

Just remember,,,there are many things that make a good detector,,,I consider how good a detector alerts on targets,,one of the most important.

I can't study,,or dig a target I am walking by.

Ok..what diff. From the racer 2 ......seems I'm getting about the same results...but don't have the diff. Frequencies .....but can tell when trash...

What are you trying to say.
Or do you have a question?

So I have been reading and watching everything on the Makro Racer 2 and the new Impact! I have decided my first detector is going to be one of them...maybe! Anyhow I have not seen anything on the Impact as far as beach usage! Any views on this would be appreciated.

I haven't found a single frequency detector that works as well on wet salt sand as a multi frequency or a pulse machine.. maybe they are out there but its hard to balance out the salt and the ground with one frequency. Maybe I am wrong

I have many single freq vlfs, PIs and multifreqs and have lots of ocean beach experience with all. No argument about the common wisdom that PIs see deepest and best but without true discrimination, multis are close with some disc (but don't we dig all?) yet some vlfs are better than others. The option to ground balance to zero is key to wet salt. My currently owned beach hunting choices in order are CTX, Excal, CZ3D, TDI, Explorer 2 then Racer 2. This is more of an Amen than a sermon.
The Racer 2 is best vlf I have used on beach and I am really looking forward to the Impact!

Assuming that it's COG mode is as good or better then the beach mode on the R1 & R2, it'll work exceedingly well on ocean beaches. I've tested both the R1 & R2, and with a slower sweep speed, you will find targets, targets that many other high end "beach" detectors walked right over.
