Some Cold Weather Finds

Well-known member
Last weekend the weather was mild a couple states south so I hit the road and visited my brother Sam and got some metal detecting in.
Temps hit high 40s and the ground was completely soft. All finds shown were made at public city parks.
Most were from last weekend and a few others were from a short hunt the weekend before.
A couple of the dimes were so deep they were making the "Thunk" sound after the chirp.
A curious find was that ornate women's strap pendant. The middle part tested 10K gold.
It was found about 20 feet from the Indian head penny and barber dime.
That city park was the site of an old school.
The small pin at the top of the group shot is a Modern Crusader Pin; circa 1918 and was tied to the fight against tuberculosis.

Coin Finds
1892,1923,1924, 1928,1941,1944,1946,1964 silver dimes
1905, dateless buffalo, 1935 buffalo, 1944 silver war nickel, 1953 Jefferson
1881 Indian Head Penny
22 wheat pennies back to 1910

Non Coin Finds
Good for 25 cents Mercantile Token
1918 Modern Crusader Pin
3 rings (1 sterling, 1 .925, 1 gold plated)
Late 1960s - Early 1970s Kronotron Electra Watch
Maltese Cross design necklace
Ace padlock
Heart Earing
Silver Washed blazer button
5 lead bullets
Key

Nice finds Dave. You've got the touch wherever you go!

Awesome finds Dave! That IHP is superb and the jewelry finds you made are great. I love that strap pendant and I don't think I've even seen one of those before. Impressive amount and variety of finds as always! ATB Greg

Great hunt with a lot of variety!!!

Beautiful patina on that IH. I like your style. I found a plated gold ring exactly like yours years ago.

Thanks Mike! Some of the stops I was lucky to get a coin:rolleyes:. Most all the signals were partially masked.
Takes a lot of patience but it is fun.

Thanks Greg. Yes, I never saw a piece of jewelry quite like that strap pendant.
it read like an Indian head penny.

Thanks. I got the Indian head first and the barber dime was a few feet away at the same site.
Your ring is the same. That was the first target I hit on the weekend.

Any of these finds with the new detector?

Thanks again for a great post.

Hey Rich, this batch was just the eTrac. I just ordered an XP Deus and want to learn that as a light part-time alternative. eTrac is still my go to machine.
