I found quite a bit more clad ; a cub scout neckerchief slide; a pin and 4 whats its. They are are the same; but one has a hole in and another has what appears to be a bird on it. They came in around the qtr mark on the xlt; but didnt stay solidly on it. They look they are made of copper or brass. Any ideas what they are? Thanks for looking !!

Looks like your doing good in your hunts.
I 'd guess that there pennies flattend by a train.

A penny from a rail yard would definitely be flat. In your first picture, on the oval that is centered, I see two birds. The one on the left is black, I'm seeing him from the back and his head is turned to the right. To his right I see the side view of a red bird facing right. Or is it power of suggestion?

Just a guess, but they could indeed be pennies. could have be created by one of those tourist machines. I kinda of collect them, I try to get them on vacations whenever I see one. Recently was at Sea World in CA, and they had a machine at just about every attraction. If you've never seen one of these machines, its simple. They usually have a couple of different designs to choose from, you make your choice insert your money, turn the hand crank and the machine flattens your penny and imprints the design of your choice.

If you use Steve's second photo as a reference, these ovals are as long as 2 quarters end to end and wider than a quarter as well. I to have dug a few stretch pennies and they are not that big.

Compared them to the Boy Scout slide.
