G,day everyone,
I took my GTAX 1000-with 10x14 DD coil to the beach this morning.Just a local beach 20mins drive from home,we had a bit of a early summer heat wave in Melbourne. We had 3 days of temp above 30,so i was sure people would of flocked to the beach. So after work on Saturday I finished at 1.00pm the temp was 34 bloody hot & humid so i drove to the beach to see how many people there were.I grabbed my Digital camera & walked down to the beach,it was half packed it put a smile on my face quickly.I took some photos of where the people were sittig & swimming, long range up the beach& a couple of close ups of some (babes in very skimpy bikinis) that way i had a fairly good idea where the goodies would be the following morning.
I printed out the pics of the beach for ref for Sunday morning. I had about 2 hrs before i had to pay for parking which is $6 all day.I targeted a med sized area set the GTAX 1000 in Beach mode could run sens at about 9-10,last mode set to ALL Metal notching out 1-2.5 & 12.Using all metal mode comes in handy when you get a iffy signal in beach mode,it makes the signal clear & get heaps more depth, pinpoints like a Marksman.
My first target was a sinker which wasnt promising at first,so i continued on then i got a lock on a 5,i knew then i had a 20c sure enough with 1 scoop i had a 20c,then a pattern of coins started to emerge so i followed the path which led to multiple coin strikes. Then as i did the high banks of the beach i got a multiple signal in a 1ft area the 1000 locked on to the following numbers 6.5,7,7.5,8,8.5,9the display lit up like a christmas tree & the tone it gave off it nearly blew my ears off.I starting scooping up $1 ,$2 coins & 3 silver rings. The rings are only fairly cheapies but are sterling silver,A fish ring,a zigzag ring with pink enamel set & sealed,a big mood ring in good cond.
Anyway I hope you enjoy my finds as much as i did. In total i found in 6 hrs 3 silver rings,4 sinkers & 31 coins,$15.55 & 2 Aus Pre-Dec coins a shilling 1944,& a threepence 1931,
Cheers Freddy
