Solid 27's on the X-50 today.....

Took the X-Terra 50 to an old Country School yard today. Didn't find a lot of coins, but some days are just like that. Managed to pull up two IH cents, 1900 and 1903, and two old Wheats, 1910 and 1911. Both Indians read a consistent 27 with no wavering. The Wheats read a 27/30 with consistent tone. Top pic shows how they looked as they came from the field. Bottom pic is after a cold water rinse. Chemicals in the soil sure took their toll on these copper cents. Glad it don't have that effect on silver. HH Randy

I get out detecting more in the winter in Iowa than you do all year in Florida. Ya know what they say JW, all work and no play......

You said it. One fair grounds I hunt the town must use high nitrate grass food or fertilizer. Even five year old Lincoln cents are pitted and corroded. Even recent Jefferson nickles are black. Sometimes I wonder if I should be wearing an exposure suit there. ;-)
