well i sold my XLT and xl-1 probe. got enough to by a brand new MXT (still in box at an estate sale) with headphones for $350.00, bought a 10x12 sef coil and a DX-1 sunray probe for it. oh and i kept the rechargable battery pack and charger. was like an even trade! lol i sold the XLT cause i really just couldnt put down my MXT. also my friends didnt understand the XLT but loved my MXT. so now 2 MXT's and DX-1 probes. to me it
was a great day!!

Congrats that was one great deal you got there.

My word, that was a good deal. Two MXT's? One for each arm! Double the finds. :clapping:

makes me happy cause i was thinking of getting an M6 as a backup. i did really like the XLT but it was so hard to put down the MXT. lol plus the MXT is newer and more coils will interchange with the upper whites machines. its alot easier to have a buddy hunt with ya if your metal detector isnt complicated.

:surprised:

HOLY $@#%!$ you know what! What a good price.
Your friends didn't understand the XLT? I watched the
Whites videos and think its a great machine. Of course using it
might make me change my mind.

I saw how it ground balanced. It looks even more simple than the MXT?
Am I wrong? How did YOU like the ground balance? Is it better or worse
in your opinion?

Yea, I know it doesn't have prospecting mode but for some of us, we'll probably
NEVER use that mode.

it ground balanced really easy..to me it was very easy to use. i did like it. BUT i like the MXT alot better. if i had unlimited funds i would buy another. i was called about the MXT and was told a price, i went and looked at it and it was brand new. the guy died of cancer after he bought it and his mother was selling everything that she wasnt able to keep.he was only 51 years old. so sad. arm cuff pads were still in plastic,so were rubber feet and headphones. $350.00 is what she asked for it. i told her they sell for double that.....she said since it is my hobby and her son wanted so bad to do it that she would sell it to me for that price. was very hard to fight back the tears...so since i favored the MXT anyway i now have a loaner and backup. the XLT i thought was very easy to use, not as easy as MXT though. only issue i had was the XLT was locking on to some targets that the MXT was not finding,,,,turns out the ground trac feature was balancing to some old rusty metal in the ground and cancelled it out. i posted on here what was going on and jeff in tn plus reading montes posts told me to lock the ground balance after was balanced to my soil. after i did that it would lock on to them targets very easy. other than that life is good.
