soccer field

Mostly the sidelines!! Drive by while a match is going on and make a mental note of where the spectators sit and where the players put their gear bags down. Also look on both sides of the goals, the goalies put their stuff there it seems. I don't get out in the actual fields much, the grounds giuys can get a little touchy about you rooting around out there.

Depends on the location. I am a considerate retriever (digger) but as BCD said some grounds guys go nuts if they see you on the play field. I generally ask before I go onto a field. About 50 percent allow me on. The other 50 percent usually say why don't you wait until after the season (Fall.) Try to learn to recover with just a probe. Nobody will ever know you were there. It only works with shallow coins for me.

I have found many gold and silver items on both the sidelines and playfield. I found a US large cent right in the middle of a soccer field that was a hayfield for at least 150 years.

Everywhere and anywhere. If there are practice areas with equipment set up hunt it. Weekend warriors lose rings, coins, and jewelry.

We don't have that problem here plus the public uses the fields evenings and weekends for soccer, frisbee throwing, you name it.
