soccer field hunt yesterday. f75ltd2 and ultimate coil

Well the ground thawed just enough to hunt herr in ohio..so i loaded up and went to a soccer field that i have hunted hard for many years.. This was a high school football field from 1900 or so til the 1960's.. Found many oldies in this field... The f75ltd2 with 13" ultimate coil wasted no time ..first target a rosie dime from the 50's then a wheaty at over 8" ,, then i got a signal in the high 80's into the 90's but a huge iron grunt an inch or so to the right..i couldn't pinpoint due to iron target ...so i dug where better signal was stronger..i did not have my pinpointer on me cause im having pouches made and she needed my pointer for sizing...so after digging down the length of my lesche digger and seeing nothing i thought wtf a false?? Wave the coil over hole and nothing.. I was like are you kidding me..well i decided to dig a couple more inches and finally its out of the hole and a solid 91 on my display..i sat a min or two thinking of things it could be...then i started waving dirt and the first chunk i grabbed was it..i seen a nice silver rim sticking out..turns out to be a nice 1944 half dollar ;). I was more impressed with the depth of the coin.. Over a foot deep or right at anyway.. Signal was very good and clear and next to big iron..i dont know if ive ever dug silver that deep before..large cents yes but they bleed into soil... I dug some more wheaties and some other brass and copper at 8-10" with clear signals and an old ring with musical notes on it that sounded like it was near surface..depth meter said 8" but the signal was so loud and clear i almost walked past it thinking can...well it was at least 8" deep if not deeper.. It has faint gold chips on it so it must have been plated...very old ring... The ultimate coil is several inches deeper than stock in air tests and i bet in the dirt its is close to that.. Coil ran quiet just like stock..very very deep! Found very small targets very deep also. I could have hunted all day as this combo felt very balanced.. Now im sitting in my chair looking out the window watching the snow cover the ground..it snowed most of the night ;( i hate winter

Congrats on the half $, all in all I would say you had good day.

Got me thinking about that 13" coil, I wonder if you could do a quick air test the 13" and the 11" coil on a clad quarter? Just like to get some idea as to the depth I would gain if I bought the 13".

Thanks Ron in WV

WOW! Great detailed write up on a awesome 'kill' of a trophy that deep and masked.:surprised:..surely would have never been found by just about anybody...that kind of trophy is like getting a P&Y elk...What tones were you running to hear that silver ping right next to big iron?

The stock coil gets right at 13.5" on a nickle de mode sens 99 with 0 disc. In bp mode all else same gets 15.5".... The 13" ultimate coil gets 14.5" and 18" with same settings.. I already had these tests done but i use silver coins on all of my testing except nickle and wheat penny..

Setting were de mode sens 90 and 0 disc tones 3H thanks and as much as i love my F70 im really loving this new F75..

The ultimate coil is at least an inch deeper to several inches deeper on everything...even tiny gold.. I really like the stock coil also but this was a old football field/ soccer field so i wanted to try out the larger coil... It did not tire my shoulder at all..felt very well balanced and made 8" coins sound like surface coins.. And it separates very well.. I wish they would make an 8" ultimate coil..

Thanks that will nickle test will work for me, I hunt most of the time BP so that 2.5" would help a lot. Now I am going on line to see where I can get the best deal on one.

I used my motorola droid turbo for the pics and the files are too big... I will take some with my tablet and see if they will be small enough ..

Ok here are the pics of my finds.. Had to use my ipad mini..thanks for looking..these were all from soccer field that has been hunted to death from me and many others since 1960's.. And only a small area was thawed enough to hunt..

Pretty impressive hunt and array of targets on a hard hit spot. Gotta love those Walkers! HH jim tn

Okay I got a 13" ultimate coil heading in this direction. I got to quit looking at half $.

Man those Walkers are beautiful coins. Let it rotate on a table top and when it settles on table you will never forget that sound.

Nice walker! One of my favorites!
Yes going below zero tonight in Michigan for the next few days.
High winds and drifting snow. Temps are going in the wrong direction.
