Soaked ground gives up goodies

I keep hitting a scout camp from the 1950's and it keeps producing. We finally got three days of soaking rain. I waited a couple of days and hit the camp for a couple of hours yesterday before work. Came up with 16 coins, including 1931 & 1944 wheat, 1937 Mercury and 1936 Buffalo. First every Buffalo, hard to figure out why so elusive.

In early July, with the ground like rock, I hunted two hours and figured I had gotten most of the coins. I was pretty discouraged then found one coin, 1941 quarter. Have hit it five times since then and picked up roughly 44 more coins of which four were silver and the buffalo head. Amazing what a good rain does.

& that's a great tip to remind everyone of...work those "pounded sites" after rain. Also sometimes just working slowly from a different direction can do wonders as well, as no site is ever completely hunted out. HH, Bill
