So why is it that...

Tesoro doesn't offer a detector with visual or tone ID that has user manually adjustable ground balance for the discriminate mode? Fisher, Whites, Garrett, Minelab all offer manual GB or auto trackers in the discriminate mode of most of their TID's while Tesoro doesn't. What's up with that?

A high powered tone ID detector in the Lobo freq range.
I am not a fan of visual meter ID but I love a simple tone ID detector. The Golden is great for trash but where I hunt I need the tejon...now we have 2 more tejon types but none with even a simple iron tone ID.
I would like to have seen one of these new detectors to have had the atleast the iron ID of the Euro.
there is an adavantage to tine ID. You can run disc at 0 to get max depth but still ignore iron.
But that is just me.

we're looking for somewhat the same things from Tesoro. I've been waiting for over three years for a manually gb'd detector (in the disc and am mode) with at least tone ID and maybe visual also but it just never comes. A couple years ago before the release of the Tejon, there were a lot of guys hoping for the same thing, so Tesoro has to be aware of the interest. I asked the question now for the first time because I almost have to wonder if, given Tesoro's designs, it's either impossible to do so and retain accuracy or perhaps impractical due to added cost. I know there's got to be a simple answer for this. Once I know, then maybe I can quit wishing for something that isn't coming.

Count me in with you Brad! I recently traded my Tejon off for a Pantera, and love it! I love the extra info that the tones give you, plus I like being able to ground balance. I like the 10 turn better than the 3.5(?) that the newer detectors have too. I wonder what drives a manufacturer to make what they make, because I have heard a lot of people on the forums wanting what you have mentioned, yet they seem to go a different direction.

in about the mid level tech range with their detectors. We see other manufacturers continue to develop better quality higher tech units but not Tesoro. Perhaps thay are satisfied with their niche in the marketplace and don't want to compete with the high end Whites, Fishers, Minelabs etc. Sure seems like it!
Good Hunting, ArtWI
