OK I have have had my Explorer for one and a half months now and been using it a lot. I have had problems adjusting to all of these tones, heck I could probably hold a conversation with R2D2 now! (~;p My problems come in when I come across a deeper target. I am talking about the targets that cause the tone to do a quick high then mid tone when it is a quarter or a dime, or a mid/low tone on a nickle. When the targets are shallow a get the steady consistant sound, but when they are deeper it bounces. I still can not tell any difference between that and an iron type tone. When I come across these tones I can adjust my iron mask from 0 to -16 and it does not make a diffence. I am hunting in iron mask mode. To me it seems like the iron mask setting makes no difference where I set it. What is it actually doing?? What type of bench test can I do to see it actually work? Thanks in advance all and HH!!!

try changing from conductive to ferrous tones.. iron should almost always give you a low tone that way
