It might be "X" number of silver coins, rings or a determined amount of clad. Going to try and detect more often? Get out more often with friends or family? Buy an expensive coin with your clad? Save up for a new detector or equipment?

Isn't that the truth.....we are sure not getting younger, but I am sure metal detecting adds years to our lives.:detecting:

I want to see how many coins (pennies) I can save up thru this next year and see if I can buy something nice just with the pennies I find thru the year. Maybe dimes something different, like maybe a key date coin ( if I don't find on). I know this last year I would clean my change and take it to the Casino every month. Then take the $85 or so and go into the Casino and see what happens. This next year I am going to save that change and see what I can buy that is nice I can have :detecting:

To find another ROLEX MEN'S 18K GOLD WATCH. Found it in 3 ft. of lake beach water along with 1 plat 15 gram wedding ring. Total finds for the year coins 63.12 5 gold rings, 1- gold ladies neckless 12 grams 10k. I put in about 20-30 hours a week here in VIRGINIA and only water hunt.
RETIRED YOU KNOW.

hahahah I don't know..A find like tarajudy found just might .............. well you know the excitement and all ... LOL...

That was once in a life time find. By the way a fellow in VIGINIA BEACH found one this summer with a AT PRO IN THE SAND.

I recently dug a gold (looking) Gucci watch from the turf that I need to have a jeweler check. My tester shows it as gold, but not the same k twice and the kit is so old I don't trust it anymore. Yeah, a gold Rolex is a great find, for sure. HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL. HH jim tn

My goal is to try river hunting. I have seen the videos of finding rings and such in the rivers. It intrigues me. I also want to get to AZ where my brother recently moved to and try gold panning and nugget hunting.

Don't get me wrong, to all the new comers to m.d. There are many days when I find bottle caps, tin foil. All you need is a good detector in the 250. to 350. range NAME BRAND TO START WITH and know where and how you want to use it.. Dry beach sand most detectors will work fine.

One silver coin would be nice. :bouncy: Or, ok, to get out more than I have the last few years.

My goal for 2018 is to get an At Pro and find some silver :) I currently have a Bounty Hunter which I got for Christmas a few years ago. Don't get me wrong its a nice machine and all
but my nephew loaned me his AT Pro and I just fell in love with it. Soooo guess what I am getting with my Tax Check??? LOL

I would be happy just to get 2-3 hours a week in metal detecting this year and haven't been able to detect much last few years. My 86 year old Mom had a fall New Year's Day and thankfully is just bruised, but it sure was a terrible scare for both of us and made me realize that I take having her in my life for granted and this was a wake up call. Haven't been water detecting in quite some time because I can't stay away from home very long at the time as her caretaker, but praying I might get a little help this year so I can pull a half day water detecting at least once a month. Whether I find pop tops or bottle caps or silver and gold, my treasure is getting outdoors and swinging my coil and trying to find out what I've found. It does add years to our lives and makes the stress of every day living just a little bit easier to handle. Mighty cold this week and even the library had been closed down all week.

to quit finding pull tabs and modern pennies and can slaw. If I figure it out, I will post how I did it.
