So what do you think the Next GEN detectors will be like.

Certainly I hope Lighter and stronger in one package would be a start,
With advances battery technology I bet some kind of standard lithium rechargeable system is available, All around weather proof, I personally think a weather proof pinpoint trigger system would be nice. And finally usb port access for your home PC to make customeprograms , target analysis of all the targets your detector detected at the end of the hunt. And an on line company website where you can upload and trade custom settings programs.
I got a feeling this is got to be right around the corner for the industry. Thats why I am holding off for a new top of the line detector to see what late 2006 and 2007 brings to the market. And good luck to whatever company makes the next great evolution in detector design

Just my opinion

Sounds like your descibing the Adonis by Titanium Systems. Discriminating Pulse. Weather proof. Light (1.5kg). Three microprocessors, several memories. Radar ground mode(wireframe image can be downloaded to a computer by infra-red or by the USB port).
Wireless headphones.
Upgrade of software over the internet and ability to register finds, concentrations of finds etc to a web site.
Similar in looks to the Explorer but they have sorted the plastics. LCD display 128 x 64 pixels. Flat coil technology etc etc
Not to bad a price at around

Hope this works !!!
