All sorts of things are going to happen this month...The debates, that should be good TV and Football gives my Sundays new meaning. And the update, I'm holding my breath that it will be cool school and worth the wait. I know I won't be getting the coil but am going to be starting my hunting next month and hoping they take the Deus to another level. The pin pointer may be the ticket?
 
my metal detecting funds are drained I too will not be getting the coil or pointer at this time MAYBE Christmas.
 
Well, my funds are low too, so I'm going to have to wait and see what you pros say about the new coil. I personally think it will be the best.. HH-Mark
 
The new Deus update is mainly to accommodate the new coil and pin pointer.
Don't get to excited and think there will it will be a massive change regarding menu's and performance.
It's still a Deus with a couple of tweaks.
 
Gary, Since it's so close maybe you have gotten some more info on the coil? The only reason that I can think of for having those higher frequencies is for gold prospecting. ? Does it have any applications for us coin or relic hunters? Otherwise all this hub bub is really not worth much for most of us. The pinpointer is cool if it works as if it were a very small coil: wirelessly and using the same tones as the coil does. Now THAT would be cool and worth it. as for updates I am hoping that they separate the reactivity from the silencer. that would save me a lot of time.
 
I thought so but is the coil going to improve our relic hunting. A lot of us aren't gold nugget hunters
 
Sure would like to see Low-Boys post answered.

Gary's statement is kind of discouraging.

No salt water benefits( would have been nice of the manufacturer had the courage to let us know this up front) and sure would like to see meaningful changes in performance
 
Really hoping v4 has better deep iron rejection - although v3's is purty durn good LOL

If it could extend the "squeak range" on non-ferrous targets out a couple of inches while rejecting more iron at depth - that would be worth it right there. 10 more days :detecting:
 
Why so much of a update for gold? Are they trying to get into a new market. Would Gary be using this update and the new coil for relic hunting in England?
 
Well the new coil at 10 and 20 khz will be great relic hunting for me. The 30 and 40 khz will be digging to much smal junk. Its still gonna be a beast in the iron if the 10,20 khz if thats whats even coming out who knows :surprised:
