So this is lake treasure.

I don't have an aqua Ace, but I was in a place where the water was over 4 feet deep. I saw on TV where they were draining a lake to repair a dam. I saw opportunity knocking. It was about a 200 acer lake, without a beach. I could only go out about 40 ft. because the mud was too deep. Everything was so muddy I wasn't about to clean off the aluminum scrap to show you, All this digging and not one piece of jewelry!! This is part of my finds today.

I found three of these copper tags in different places. I wonder if I should mail them to the owner?

This was my big surprise. A Shakespeare rod and reel. It just looks like it is all scratched up. It was totally under the mud and everything works fine. Everything moves freely like it didn't have any mud on it.

Looks like you have the hook, line and sinker.. And a pole too. A little bait and you are ready for another hobby.

Now if that had been a beach, you would have done real good. And if you had a water machine in your hands, a better day yet! Ever consider water hunting too?????

The rod and reel might been for Tight-lining. My great uncle lost one here in Ohio while setting up another rod.

Yes, I would love to water detect. I love snorkeling and I have a very good snorkel setup. I was snorkeling last week. I was thinking how the water was the right depth to snorkel and hold a MD'er. I bought the Ace almost 2 years ago because my other MD'er died. The Ace was all I could afford knowing that the place I worked was going to shut down. I am living off the equity of the house I sold. So, till I get work, no more MD'ers. The Ace and I have got to know each other pretty well and we do OK.

Go to the local park and MD for an hour or so and you'll have plenty of bait. Do I smell fish frying?

Think you got enough equipment bud? You look like you're off to excavate the Pyramids and look for evidence of Ancient Astronauts.

One of the prerequisites for jewelry is that people have to be there, in the water and active, in order to lose any. No beach? Safe bet there's no jewelry. Find out where people used to swim - I bet there is a place there, somewhere.

I was hoping the boat ramp had something or the fishing dock. There are some places along the river where people use to swim, but they are on private property now. Some are private boat docks.
The swimming areas are rocky shorelines. Private areas have sandy beaches. There is one very large swimming area along the river. They build fires, party and swim at night. On the weekend you can't even find a parking place. The last time I went there, I couldn't find one coin!! The people here are very trashy. I find a lot more trash in the parks here then in Fl. I believe you could spend all day MDing within a 20ft. square area. Also throw in a lot of hot rocks that read as a quarter. Please come up and show me how it is done.

What a haul there Big John. I've only been able to do about 3 feet or so with my unit. I'd love to get a chance like you had. Problem around here is the lakes always have water in them or they don't have people other than the fisherman. Tackle I already have.....eheheh.....Way to go!!!

Old swimming holes, especially with a rope swing, are good spots. Should be a bunch in that neck of the woods.
