I like the Discovery 3300. It is fairly user friendly, and economical. MSRP is $399. Cabela's has them for $199

You'll probably get as many answers as BH made detectors! My hat in the ring, Is my 220D. So there you are...............

for 300 you can get the time ranger or land ranger on ebay . There real nice or get the ranger pro for about 128 new it nice too has sens pinpiont depth meter gold silver and coin id plus numeric. And comes with smaller coil too

Discovery 3300 for the bucks is a nice light unit has a notch and tone ID and is a solid 6-7 inch unit...Used a lot of units over the years and just love the tones. Shop around as they list for $299 but can be had cheaper...

Yup..your gonna get 10 million answers to this one...the right detector for you is the one you know the best...you could buy the best detector or the most expensive detector on the market, but if you do not know how to use it correctly, your not gonna find much good stuff...For the money, I would say the Pioneer 505, Camo-LS, or the Discovery 3300...Next in line would be the Fisher f4 or f5...

HH,

the quick draw is cheap and I have found diamond rings at 9 inches with it. I have found more $ worth of treasure with it than any high dollar detector I have owned. easy to master. just do your home work on places to hunt and you will find plenty with it.

Don't be afraid of a Land Star, I find mine very easy to use, decent at identification, pretty much right on on depth, light and versatile. I'm new at this but have found a ton of junk, death on coins but nickels are hard to find.

Money was an issue and had to work extra hours to pick up my first Metal Detector.
There are so many out there.
I picked up a Bounty Hunter 1100.
Any honest comments on this machine.
I just hope I made a decent choice for the $.
