But then I predicted it would come to pass and it's a long ways from being over. Wish all you new owners the best of luck. You're going to have a ball with this little treasure demon.

For the rest of you lurkers out there holding back on taking the plunge - jump in and get your feet wet. The longer you wait the more you will regret it. :)

Bill is right. I waited, too. Then sat on it, then convinced myself that it was all just hype, then stood around some more. When I finally did spend the measley 175$, I kicked myself for not taking the advice of cats like Bill.
(Did you catch that: $175, give or take)

Don't get a 250!! Go buy a Walmart or Radio Shack detector and then e-mail me and tell me all the spots that you have "cleaned out" so I can come in with my 250 and pick up the goodies you didn't find. I'm just trying to save you from having to bend over and kneel down so much and you won't be having to replace your digger as often either.

Thanx in advance

.....I wish I'd picked up the Ace 150 and 250 a long time ago. This was one of those rare occasions where the positive comments just kept coming in from novices to hard-core old timers, and for good reason as I am now experiencing for myself. I know Garry/OH just jumped onboard and has a 250 on the way after running the gamut of higher-end ID units as I have been doing. Garry knows his machines, and I'm sure will have alot of good tips to contribute.

My first thought after first picking up the 150 and giving it a spin, and thinking of all the other machines I had tried out recently was ..... "what's the point ?" Here I was swinging a well designed little detector coupled with a small 4.5 inch coil to see how it suited my own particular hunting style and needs, and at $125 was doing most everything the $600-$1000 machines had been doing.

Now the Aces won't replace some more specialized or more powerful machines for certain types of hunting, but I have little doubt that they will be one of the detectors I grab most often for an out-the-door casual hunt for the "fun factor" involved. They do enough things very well in the performance department to take the stress out of having to ride the machine as is so often the case with others that don't quite cut the mustard. They just offer the right combination of USEABLE features, and do so at a great price.

Nothing to sell here, as I am not a dealer for any brand or model. Just enthusiastic over finding the kind of machine that all others are often trying to emulate. A good solid machine with better than average performance at an excellent price.

Just my opinion of course......

I spoke with Mary last week. She said it just hasn't slowed down yet. They had no idea that the sales would be so high. I think she is losing here voice from ansering questions about the ACE Seies Detectors. Pehaps we should all send her a card or gift on mothers day this year. I'll stir this up again later on this year. :)

When I started out in the early 70's I had some cheapo detector that was worthless. I used it for a couple years and very dis-satisfied with it. It must have been Garretts good advertising that made me buy their lowest priced detector,a Super Mini Hunter, at $99. That was about all I could afford at the time. It lasted me for years till it finially died. I then bought a Treasure Ace 100. I used it a few years and had to have it repaired. It only lasted a year until the detector went bad again. I figured it was a lemon and didn't have it repaired again. I stuck with Garrett and bought the Ace 250. It's a great machine, very sensitive. Takes some getting used to. I still have my Super Mini Hunter, wouldn't mind getting fixed, I really enjoyed that machine.

I was buying the prizm v from white but something told me to wait for a bit.And then the ace 250 came out for half the price I'm so happy with my choice. It is my first detector and i took my time cause Ive read people drooping this super hobby just because they bought a low hand quality metal detector so for me it was important to get the best quality and money wise .I needed something to take me out and do exercise and take my mind off the the everyday tress.I still go out fishing but with metal detecting don't have to take the truck and all the equipment and ride for miles to go fishing.Note that i still love going fishing but with metal detecting just take my bike and go just a few block and have so many place to go hunt for coins and relics and all the rest of the stuff that is under the grass. So now can't wait for spring to come anyway take care and happy hunting to you all.thanks Ciao.......Anthony:thumbup:
