So......Does Your Wife Also Detect, Just Accepts Your Hobby Or Wishes All Your Machines Would Disappear?

John,

My wife has hunting with me for the past 15 years. That is up to this year. Sent her machine in to get the coil replaced (twice) it is so bad she just quit hunting.
She would only hunt with that unit and it was hot, most of the time she would beat me! Bad part is it is a older unit I cant get the correct coil for and Detector Pro no longer has any like it and are out of business.

She thinks it's silly. Too expensive. And always thinks up "more important" things for me to do around the house. My partners are slobs ect ect.....

Wifes opinion on metal detecting
Since I have started metal detecting I have spent a lot of time on the computer reading and comparing detectors. This morning my wife told me she fills like a metal detecting widow.
A little history on us. I lived between Chicago and Milwaukee and my wife has always lived in the south. Nine years ago we met and got married. As a kid I would go to the beaches of Lake Michigan and she loved to go to the Gulf Coast and Florida.
I have never seen anyone metal detecting at Lake Michigan. But my wife tells me she would always see these old men detecting, but she announced to me that they were much older than me. Me being 64 I guess she was trying to make me feel good. She then told me I guess a man is happy as long as he has something to ^&^%$# (Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh we have children reading these forums...)
I have to admit, I have a wife with a great sense of humor!!!!

Mine likes to nugget shoot, meteorites, and minie' balls---we have never coin hunted, but she has eyeballed 2 V nickels. Her detectors: ML 2200,Whites GMT,and TDI SL.

I think mine wishes I'd go detecting and never come back......Actually she's always been ok with me going out to hunt, even during the worst nor'easters that the Jersey shore has seen. She certainly enjoys the jewelry.

My wife has no interest in detecting, but for the past 45 years I have been detecting has always been supportive. Even, to the point of buying me at least one detector that I recall and numerous coils and other equipment. Since retiring eleven years ago my routine is to hunt for four or so hours every day in the mornings. She does her morning things and I do mine. We both are blessed. LOL. HH jim tn

My lady has never had any interest on the awesome hobby but when I find cool rings she does the precious moments eyes and ask. What are you doing with it. Like if I ever sold any of my finds. She's so cute. She can have them all as long as I can keep tecting!!! :wiggle:
Today I got an awesome deal on a Tesoro compadre for 65 bucks for her. I'm still trying to get her hooked after all of these years. Now that my son is hooked. Got two other machines. At Gold for 400 with original Coil, sniper Coil and the Garrett carrot.^_^ last but not least a whites v3i with the headphones, pinpointer and a 1500 huge Coil that I will never use lol for 700 bucks. I had the best week of my life. ^_^ sorry I got off topic, I'm just sooooo happy with the new family members.:bouncy:
