Snow is melting

Finally got out with the snow slowly melting, and more important out with the new e-trac. Not as smooth a transition from the Xs as I has hoped. i think the problem was I put the sound in ferrous as I used to hunt with the XS, but I now think the e-trac should be used in conductive. Of course it started to sleet 40 minutes after I got there but had to continue. Only found 3 coins, 1940 canada 1 cent, 1941 Newfoundland 1 cent, and probably my best coin find ever, an 1888 NF3 Newfoundland 5 cent. Is pretty rare and I think the grading is at least f-12 but I am bias. Book value is $300 in f-12, definitly pumped with the first silver out of the way for the year.

Glad to see that you are able to get out. Our snow is gone also but now the rain doesn't seem to want to stop.
I understand your transition thing I am coming from the same thing. When I talked to Kevin Hoagland from Minelab he told me to forget everything I know about the XS and basically start over but I did not go quite that far as I can tell some of the things transfer over quite well. Hope you are able to get out more real soon.

Very nice find. I found my first Canadian Silver down here in central Nebraska yesterday. Funny thing was, it was the only coin I found. I'll try and get a picture posted, but its a very worn 1902 H Canada Ten Cents.

Glad to see your out and about..(out of hibernation) and already making cool finds. Thanks for the pictures.
