Snorkel metal detecting - microscopic GOLD

New member
Here is my latest video - first snorkeling video

After hitting the gold ring I decided to stay for a test run in snorkel metal detecting.
Hunted shallow area - up to 3ft / 1m - had issues with mask, weights, buoyancy... you name it :)
but got some GOLD :)

Am I doing it wrong? :detecting:

I would love to hear recommendations, critics ... anything.

That's great detecting to find small gold, WTG.. I also would love to be able to snorkel but have enough trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time.

Looks like fun. I might try this around the dock and been planning to build a sniping tube to use in the water.

I found pull tab and diging it I have seen a glint of yellow. And there was this peace :)
It was so shallow ... about foot or so of water below me.

It is good way to detect in shallow water but there is a lot of trash ...
deeper than 3 ft ... diving weights and other problems

Huge peace Scott ... 0,1 g :super:

You're doing great. Big gold is easy, tiny gold is a challenge.

For removing iron from your search spot i can recommend using a power magnet. It saved me a lot of time cleaning my hot spots on the beach from nails, screws and beer bottle caps. I've had a small one (Goliath 50 lbs) on the end of the SS shaft of my homemade beach scoop. It worked excellent and fast. It's off now. My beach was replenished and I use the pointed end to break up layers of sea shells but it can be reattached if necessary.

You can find two small flat/curved neodymium magnets inside a computer hard disk.

Regards Kossie

I was cleaning "underwater beach" past month by snorkeling and digging all targets.
There is lots more to dig.
It will help if I connect some magnets on my mini scoop for start.

Thanks Kossie

I have a magnet with a handle I got from home depot and planned to use it at the swim area at the river to remove some trash targets, but just haven't had the time.
