Sniper coil or 10x14" DD Excelerator in wet salt water sand

Not a rich man here folks. Mainly interested in finding lost jewelry and coins on the beach. My Ace 250 does great in the wet sand right now with the stock coil, 6 1/2" x 9". I just yesterday found a penny 8" down in the wet sand. I want to increase my depth of my search area. So I am interested in all opinions about what would be best on wet salt water beaches.

Sniper coil or 10x14" DD Excelerator

For the beach? No question. Without a doubt, the absolute best search coil that you can use on the Ace 250 is the 10"x14" double"D" Exellerator search coil made by Detech and sold by KellyCo.:detecting:
The design of the double"D" search coil is well suited for highly mineralized ground, such as a salt water beach. Another benifit of using this search coil on the beach is the fact that you will be able to cover more ground in less time=more finds.:wiggle: Depth for this search coil is very good as I have personlly found coins and jewelry at around one foot with it. Best of luck to ya whichever search coil you decide to get. Happy Hunting!:)

I go to Wells, Maine, or Clearwater Florida each year.
I had the 9 x 12 and it was OK. Last year I bought the 10 x 14 DD and I LOVE IT.
It made a big difference. The sniper coil is great for around pole, swing set and so on at the school yards.
But when your talking open fields or salt water beaches the 10 x 14 DD is a dream.
But you have to remember that the Ace is one great detector, but it's not really made for salt water beaches.

Happy Hunting

By all means the 10x14 as it is a DD which is designed specifically for high mineralization and salt is a mineral. Should improve your finds greatly in the wet salt sand and in the water.
