With the ground being frozen, playgrounds with sand are the only place to detect in the city. Competition is fierce, as the two I went to after work had footprints from another detectorist. You could tell, as they made a path to and around all the hot spots around the play equipment. Did I get some coins at all???? Absolutely! 
I worked the sniper coil around the metal bases of the equipment, running it parallel to the metal structures. I also worked the wide spaces away from the equipment, figuring nobody would bother looking in these places. Well.....here's what I found in two hunted out playgrounds. They were quite small, as it took me a couple of hours to finish them.
That Sniper Coil got to places where someone else with the stock coil couldn't, and that made all the difference......
