Do they make a sniper coil for the Vaquero?
What is the best coil for the Vaquero in very trashy areas?
Tesoro shows a 5.75 concentric and a 5.75 wide scan. I'm wondering what the difference in these two are? Which may be best for trashy areas? Mine came with the 8x9 concentric. I would like to hear about any experiences with the smaller coils on the Vaquero.
Although I don't have the V, I do have other Tesoro detectors. I use the 5.75 coil for most of my hunting which I like to work in trashy areas. The 5.75 concentric will do best in most situations. If soil conditions become high mineralization, then the Widescan can handle that a little better.
The concentric requires more overlap sweeps because of the matrix field. If I can get away with it, and I can in almost all my cases, I use the concentric.
I haven't read in on Tesoro's site, but I would think details would be provided for their products.
I use a 5.75con on my Vaquero in high trash situations and in heavy brush. I haven't noticed much if any difference in depth compared to the 9x8 and it pinpoints great.
the 5.75" concentric coil is a great coil. it gets good depth and pinpoints great. it is a must have coil if you are a serious hunter and hunt in trashy areas. it will pull good targets out of the trash that your stock coil will pass by. my first trip out with my 5.75 coil to an old church yard that i had hunted several times with my stock 8 inch coil netted me 4 indian head pennies and a mercury dime.... it made a believer outta me. good luck and happy hunting.......roger
