Sniper coil brings home the bacon.

Bit the bullet and ordered the sniper coil a few days ago. Got home from church this afternoon to be greeted by it today. Ripper! Without waisting too much time on domestic duties, I was able to slip out with the yellow fella and new coil in tow. Today was pretty much the last chance that I would get at reaching my goal of $200 for my favourite site for this year.
I started at around 4pm with the big coil attached. The goal was a mear $12, but it didn't want to come easily. As I'd hunted this site pretty hard, I knew that they were going to be few and surface targets. It gets replenished twice a month (farmers market). The last one was yesterday. Anyway after nearly 4 hours of hunting and having dinner 2 hours cold, I'd covered virtually this entire site with the large coil (about half an acre) and had come a painful $2.10 short. Ouch. With the sun about to set, it was time for a different approach. Given that there is several small areas of high concentrations of trashy ground, it was time to blood the sniper coil. Immediately after attachting it, I went straight over to one of these hots spots and started swinging. Hit 2 targets in 90 seconds; both $2 coins. Goal complete. Ended up with a total $13.90 for the hunt (4hours). Not a great hunt, but a happy ending. Site total for the year $201.90.
In the 3 months that I've had the Ace now, I'm a whisker short of $300. End of year target is on track with a week long trip to Sydney at the end of the week, will provide very futile pickings.
Swinging that sniper coil after having the big coil on felt pretty weird, but sure am looking forward to exploring it's potential.
Included a picture of one of our many interesting fifty cent pieces.
This one is a 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games coin. Even found a plectrum. Sorry about the details. Hoped it would be better.
