I had hunted this old doctor's clinic built in 1938, which has since been turned into apartments, with my GTI1500. I found some pennys and a silver dime, but it was just too busy, causing my 1500 to false alot. I recently got an ACE250 with a sniper coil. Took it up there Tuesday evening. I found 25 pennys and 3 dimes, 1 penny being a wheat. Went back Thursday evening. I found 21 more pennys, a ladies Guess watch, 2 dimes and one 1953 silver dime. All of this came from a couple of areas beside the walk way leading into the building no larger than 15'X 15'. That little sniper is absolutely a must coil to have with the ACE250. I just ordered a 9X12 coil to compliment my ace. I will have the ace250 with 6X9 coil, the 4.5 sniper coil and the 9X12 coil and a set of Whites headphones with volume controls all for the amazing price of $300. Hard to beat that arsenal at that price!

Dosen't get much better than that. Don't let Medicare know about where you found the booty. They might want their share. I have about the same setup as you, just waiting for the snow to get gone so I can get out...Get dirty..

I found my 1500 to have relatively poor target seperation, even with the sniper coil, when I tested it against other Garrett machines.

The 250/sniper rig, however, was at the top of the list and excels in modern (aluminum) trash. That sniper just stays on my 250 and is my rig of choice in heavy modern trash.

Now in heavy small iron, well, I use other machines as the Garretts get 'chattery'.

That's why I sold my "Discovery" 3300. Nice features and all, but target seperation was very poor.

My favorite stock-sized coil machine in pulltabs etc. believe it or not, is an old Freedom Ace Plus with a stock 250 coil affixed. This rig punches through aluminum junk like nothing I've seen.

For a small-coil rig, however, that 250/sniper combo is hard to beat.

Congrats on the nice digs!

I take the ACE 250/Sniper Coil + one of mt GTI's on all my relic hunts. There are good reasons for it, and your hunt was a good reason why. :twodetecting:

After my brother Awhitster told me about the Sniper I got one. It's proved itself already in just the few times I've used it.

I was thinking it would be nice to have a spliter screwed in the connector on the ACE 250 then just a plug for either coil. Wonder how that would work?
