Snakes and the GTI 2500

Does anyone know if snakes are affected by Metal detectors.. I was out with my GTI today and and a garden snake was laying flat in the grass and just seemed to be waiting for me...Never moved just watched me.. I grew up in the country so I just left it alone. I didn't check the imaging feature on the GTI or if the treasure talk would have told be what to do...Ha Ha maybe I just have not found that setting yet. Side note found 51 coins and 3 wheaties, no silver in 2 hours.

GTI 2500 has snake mode...access it at the menu....2 options... venomous or non-venomous.

I had an experience with an "electronic device" that seemed to draw a snake. So I wonder if electronic devices are giving off some sort of signal that makes snakes come to these things.

My story is with a tape player (small boom box) that I was using playing back bird calls for a Christmas Bird Count. I heard rustling in the brush next to the tape player and was expecting to see a Oven bird or a Brown thrasher but low and behold out comes a very large Florida Indigo Snake!!!! Right up to the box. So of course I had to add that to the "other species list" and this was the talk of the evening tally time.

Who knows maybe the equipment sends out some sub sonic waves that attract snakes.

If that is the case I will have a 2500 for sale fast. Don't need them and don't like them enought said.

Snakes have no ears, can't hear, and only feel vibrations so whether they can pick up sound waves is beyond me. Rattlesnakes, or any pit viper, have sophisticated heat sensors right below their eyes and can pick up any warm-blooded animal at a fair distance, which is how they can hit a target dead center in the black of night and why people shouldn't be running around at night bare footed or bare legged in snake country or running around at all for that matter..

My back yard used to be full of garter snakes and one of my cats used to catch them and then bring them in the house to show us her prize.

"Is the snake coiled..." :lmfao:

Thats a good one!

No it was straight as a shaft!

LOL

No Bill I did'nt count it.

Everyone will put down in the "other list" sightings of animals, reptiles, amphibians, strange sightings like people running naked like "Jay birds" (sorry for the pun:clsoedeyes:) yes that has been seen as well!
