I got a couple hours in at a local park today and snarfed my first token! It's from the Charles Burg Saloon in Canby, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, which operated from 1898 - 1912. Good for 5 cents at the bar. I wonder how far 5 cents got you back then??? I was happy to find it, as it's my first 'good' (not modern) token. How it got to Silver City from Minnesota we'll never know.
Other than that, It was a dental hygeine kind of day-- found a tube of Colgate Dental Cream with Gardol (!), a dentists implement, the bathroom faucet, useful for brushing, and the lid of an old can of Comet Cleanser, so I can scrub the toothpaste out of the sink when I'm done brushing. Also an aluminum wearever fountain pen cap, the usual zinx (can you say "Coinstar"?? I knew you could!!) and a few coppers and clad. I'm sparing you the recycling bag - I've started collecting the Aluminum, Copper and Brass, might as well see it put to use.
Happy Hunting to all!!
