Smashed Gold!

Found this signet ring in a crawl space yesterday, thought it was a coat pin until I got home and took a closer look ! I have 4 now and none of them have gold markings, when did they start marking gold anyway?
I also found 4 coins but badly crusted, 1913 dime, 1895 penny, 1915 penny and another crusty wheaty.

I've found a couple gold rings that have no hallmark value on them. A couple are old and a couple are artisian.

"The United States did not start stamping until the early 1800's. Countries like England, etc were doing it long before. It was not until the 70's that the Hallmark act was put into place.
Basically several countries got together and signed the Vienna Convention and agreed to recognize each others hallmarks and also use a common control mark."
