Smart Plus and The 14" Epic Coil

[size=large]I took the Smart Plus out today and tried the 14" Epic coil. The coil ground balanced as easy as any other coil and believe it or not, it separates exceptionally good in the iron. I went to an area where there was an old barn with just a layer of rusted tin and nails. You would have thought that I had the Super Six coil on, it is that good. But it is a little harder to pinpoint with all the iron and the size of the coil. Of all the targets I dug, I was off a couple of times but 2-3 inches.... not bad for a 14" coil. Finds were only 3 overall buttons, 2 were not that old but one is really nice, one that I have never seen before.
I did learn one thing with this coil today and that is to make sure your cable right above the coil is tight.. These things are super sensitive and will pick up the slightest movement of that cable.. I will probably go back to using tape to tighten everything up on the lower end..

The Epic coil sure is a great all rounder for its size indeed, as you say... its separation ability is brilliant
