Smaller coil for the Ace 250

What are the advantages of this. I am a newbie, but am thinking of purchasing it.

As you know (or will know soon!) the 250 is a sensitive machine. When hunting in trashy areas, you'll sometimes come across areas where trash and a "goodie" will be under the stock coil at the same time, giving you fits trying to decipher what the machine is trying to tell you. All machines suffer from this, so the common solution is to run a smaller coil so that the "footprint" is smaller, hopefully avoiding some of the trash and making finding the good stuff (hopefully) a little easier.
Drawbacks are it takes more time and sweeps to cover a given area, and you can expect a bit less depth with a smaller coil.
Note that if the "trash" is closer to the coil or even in very close proximity to the "goodie" the smaller coil might not help, we are working with the law of averages here and on average the smaller coil help work around some of the junk.

Advantages include:
Better target seperation and great response to small jewelry.
Easier pinpointing: I use small coils almost exclusively while hunting around public pools where I have gotten permission to do, I use a screwdriver for recovery and pinpointing/probing is a breeze. If I dug big holes here I would likely be asked to leave and never return!
Stable operation: I have two 4.5" coils for my 1000 and 1500 respectively, plus the 5.5" Ferrett for the 1000 and can usually run the gain at max, often achieving 75% or more of the depth you can get with the stock coils.
A 'sniper' coil is in my opinion the MOST useful accessory coil you can get for a machine. It will be like having a brand new detector.

Also you can get into tight spots and closer to playground equipment.
