smaller coil for EXII?

rebelLT

New member
I am looking at a smaller coil for my EXII as I have some sites that are LITTERED with pull tabs etc. I have seen that there are several smaller coils, 5, 6, and 8 inch coils for the explorers. I realize that I will lose some depth by going smaller though I would like to minimize this. Anyone have any advise as to which of the coils work best?

Do you like the X-5 coil? Is there anything one should know about using it...like any funky quirks it does or actual depth in compared to explorer meter?
Just asking cause I am getting one soon.

I own both the detech 8 inch and 5 inch coils - i use the 8 inch more than the five inch on trashy sites. My advice is get the 8 inch coil , the 5 inch covers too small an area of ground you will get tired fast with a small 5 inch coil. Get a six inch coil if possible thats the ideal size in trash in my opinion its the best size.

I all ready sent check to get 5" coil....I do use the 7.5" minelab coil most of the time as it is...but still felt like I needed a smaller coil at fairgrounds....even the 7.5 coil seems small to me and wears me out quick but still seem hard to seperate targets in some areas....who makes the 6" anyways? All I could find was sunrays 5"...
